About the Blue Lock
Japanese manga author Muneyuki Kaneshiro and artist Yusuke Nomura collaborated on the Blue Lock series. Since August 2018, it has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine. The shnen category of the 45th Kodansha Manga Award was won by Blue Lock in 2021.
The movie opens with Japan being knocked out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which inspires the Japanese Football Union to launch a program scouting high school players who will start practicing for the 2022 Cup. The forward Isagi Youichi was invited to this program not long after his team misses out on going to Nationals because he passed to a less talented teammate.
Ego Jinpachi, their coach, plans to “destroy Japanese loser football” by implementing a radical new training regimen that segregates 300 teenage strikers into a facility resembling a prison dubbed “Blue Lock.”
Blue Lock Episode 7 Recap
Due to Kuon’s treachery, Team Z is at a disadvantage, but they prevent Team W from scoring another goal. As Chigiri fights to keep up, a flashback to his time in high school appears.
He formerly belonged to Wanimas’ team, as is known. Chigiri was faster and more skilled than them, and he used to think that because of his faster speed, he was more talented than everyone.
He stops playing due to a right ACL injury, which causes him to become unpopular and earn the moniker “genius.” He plays more slowly than normal when he starts up again. It is clear from the present that he looked for an excuse to give up because he was afraid of losing who he was.
Chigiri is told to go and that it has not ended by Isagi. Isagi then loses control and makes an unsuccessful solo attempt to score. Isagi is still as determined as he ever was, and Chigiri understands that he worries about losing the thrill of seeing him play. Isagi detects Chigiri’s return to playfulness and his apparent objective.
Chigiri receives the ball from him, and with incredible speed, he scores. Team Z praises Chigiri after the team’s draw, and Chigiri tells Isagi that seeing him made him want to race once more.
Team V, the only team that hasn’t yet lost, will be the opponent in the following game. Team V disputes that Kuon tried to reveal their trade secrets to the opposing team when Team Z was in the cafeteria. As members of Team V, Zantetsu, Mikage, and Nagi are introduced to us; they all reject and degrade Kuon. Isagi promises Team V that they will lose.
